Dr. Burke is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and maintains Subspecialty Certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. His clinical interests include bone and soft tissue injuries to the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle. He is also interested in general fracture care.
He has advanced training in arthroscopic reconstructions of the shoulder and knee. He performs a high volume of shoulder replacement surgeries in addition to minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures. Dr. Burke completed his orthopaedic residency at Temple University in Philadelphia where he participated in coverage of the Division 1 Temple Owls. In Philadelphia he covered numerous high school football games for the legendary Philadelphia Catholic League. His Sports Medicine and Shoulder fellowship training continued at the University of Pennsylvania which included coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers as well as collegiate coverage for the University of Pennsylvania, University of Delaware, and Rowan University. In Massachusetts he has focused his care on high level high school and collegiate athletes. He is a consulting sports medicine physician for MIT Athletics and has covered the Belmont Marauders, and Wayland Warriors. Dr. Burke graduated from Lehigh with Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude honors. During his junior year he was one of only twelve juniors selected as a Martindale Society Student Associate. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
